Twas The Sunday Before Christmas

Twas the Sunday before Christmas

so we did the choir program in Sacrament Meeting today.  It was good and it was fun singing!

lunch was fun today too, Willyne shared a meal that Marsha Nielson made for their movie group recently -- wheat tortillas with melted cheese.  Then you put on your choice of toppings, including a white rice and black bean mix, sour cream, tomatoes, lettuce, and avocado.  Very nice!

Suze is here today visiting Becca -- always enjoy having her here.

We are doing webcam with Chloe and Abigail in Boston for family home evening tomorrow, so we did a trial run with Sarah and Darin tonight to work out the kinks.  It is amazing what you can do now.  We watched a 20 minute movie together!  It played on Darin's computer screen, and I watched it with them on my screen and we were able to talk with each other about what we were seeing.  Very nice!

If we can't live close together, it sure is nice we can do things like this!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

In addition to reading the Book of Mormon, I am also reading the Old Testament for Sunday School class.  As I have mentioned before, I find the Institute manual a very useful resource to help me understand better what I am reading.  Today was Ezekiel 1-8.  I continue to be amazed with how much the Israelites rebelled against God after so many blessings, and also amazed at how many pages are devoted to the same time period -- for example, Jeremiah, Lamentations, and Ezekiel also pretty much discover the conquering and captivity of the Jews by Babylon and Nebechadnezzer in about 600 B.C.

This must be very important to the Lord to discuss and for us to learn from ... (something about if we don't learn from history we are doomed to repeat it ...)
