And No Man Taketh This Honour Unto Himself

Today's scripture ...

"For every high priest taken from among men is aordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts andbsacrifices for sins:
"Who can have acompassion on the ignorant, and on them that are bout of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
"And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for asins.
"And no man taketh this ahonour unto himself, but he that isbcalled of God, as was cAaron." (italicized by me)

Today's scripture ...

"For the aword of God is bquickand powerful, and sharper than any
two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a fdiscerner of the             gthoughts and hintents of! the heart."

If You Cannot Do Great Things, Do Small Things In A Great Way

Today's scripture ... especially beautiful words to me today ...

"God, who aat sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the bfathers by the cprophets,
"Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his aSonwhom he hath bappointed cheir of all things, by whom also he dmade theeworlds;
"Who being the brightness of his agloryand the express image of his bpersonand upholding all things by the word of his cpower, when he had by himself dpurged our sins, sat down on the erighthand of the fMajesty on high;"

My Idea Of Utopia

Today's scripture ...

"And it came to pass that there was no acontention in the land, because of the blove of God which did dwell in the hearts of the people.
"And there were no aenvyings, nor bstrifes, nor ctumults, nor whoredoms, nor lyings, nor murders, nor any manner ofdlasciviousness; and surely there could not be a ehappier people among all the people who had been created by the hand of God."
                  -- 4 Nephi 1:15-16

What is the first and great commandment, and the second one like unto it?  Could it really be that simple (and take that level of total commitment) to achieve Utopia?

While considering that, if you'd like to see a map and picture of today's walk, please click here.  Reading today included 4 Nephi and Philemon.  Photo info at:  http://www.pinterest.com/pin/310678074266029384/

The Temptation To Quit Will Be Greatest Just Before ...

Thought for today ...

"Be certain that every decision you make, whether temporal or spiritual, is conditioned on what the Savior would have you do. When He is the center of your home, there is peace and serenity. There is a spirit of assurance that pervades the home, and it is felt by all who dwell there."
—Richard G. Scott, "For Peace at Home"
From reading in 3 Nephi 30, Titus 1-3, and more.

If Your Actions Inspire Others To Dream, Learn, Do, and Become ... You Are A Leader

More info at: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/310678074265974852/

Thought for today, from reading in 3 Nephi 27 and 1 Timothy 5-6 ...

"And whoso taketh upon him my name, and aendureth to the end, the same shall be saved at the last day.
"Therefore, whatsoever ye shall do, ye shall do it in my name; therefore ye shall call the church in my name; and ye shall call upon the Father in my name that he will bless the church for my sake.
"And it came to pass that when Jesus had ended these sayings he said unto his disciples: Enter ye in at the astrait gatefor strait  is the gate, and narrow is the way that leads to life, and few   there be that find it; but wide is the gate, and broad the way   which leads to death, and many there be that travel therein,   until the night cometh, wherein no man can work."
