Many Had Seen And Conversed With Angels

Today's thought, from reading in Alma 19 and John 19

"And behold, many did declare unto the people that they had seen angels and had conversed with them; and thus they had told them things of God, and of his righteousness."

                                                                                             -- Alma 19:34

Sobering to read about newly converted people being so blessed they saw and conversed with angels in the same morning as I read John's detailed account of the Crucifixion.

Being Wise, Yet Harmless

"Now Ammon being ^awise, yet harmless, he said unto Lamoni: Wilt thou hearken unto my words, if I tell thee by what power I do these things? And this is the thing that I desire of thee."

The Ragozzines are leaving for their Florida home in the morning, so Grandmother Forsyth, Willyne, and Becca joined Sarah for a day together today.  Part of it was to watch the movie "Ephraim's Rescue", which they invited me to join them for.  I was very touched, both by the movie and by the fact they wanted me to join them on a ladies day.  Willyne is right, the line "We need to keep ourselves worthy so we will be ready whenever opportunity comes" is very powerful.  This is an amazing story, if you haven't seen it, please do!

Later we had a pizza/pool party where the Josh/Megan and Jacob/Hilary families joined us.  It is hard saying goodbye, but at least we had fun doing it.

Grandchildren Singing and Enjoying My Boys Listen To Me Teach

Two highlights to this day ... listening to the sweet singing at Darin's brother Michael's missionary farewell today ... while holding Nathan and calming Abigail who sadly bonked her head hard just as it was time to go sing ... you know the Spirit is strong if it can make it past that ...

I also taught High Priests today, it was on the conference talk "These Things I Know" by President Packer.  Doug Jr and Benjamin were kind enough to come, and I didn't put them to sleep, so maybe I did good.  I enjoyed the way I felt doing it.  Actually the best experience on this was probably from Willyne ... it's her story to tell so I will leave it that Relief Society had the same lesson, and she was asked to share some of her life experiences.  I know she blessed several sisters with what she said, and that is always a good thing ...

Read materials to finish preparing for my lesson, including a couple conference talks, did not read scriptures other than that today.  Day of rest from walking and no vitamins today ...

More School Meetings

We had board meetings Tuesday, Friday, and today this week ... we have a full slate of 7 members of the board again, we have a new director, and we are learning from each other.  I expect the school will have a good year, so that's exciting.

I read Alma 16 and John 16 before starting my day, had no walk, and didn't take vitamins.  I did participate in the family activity watching Wolverine together this evening.  Guess it's fair to say I'm not in to X Men but it was fun to be all together anyway, and ... who can say no to movie popcorn and a few swigs of orange pop?

Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled

Thought for today, from reading in John 14 and Alma 14 ...
