The Beatitudes Compared To Alma 7:23-24

You may know that I was set apart as a member of my stake high council this morning, something I did not expect at all and certainly not now, thinking Willyne and I had just agreed to continue on for another year or more as church service missionaries working in the 12 step addiction recovery program.

Of course, I was put right to work, and just a few hours after being set apart, I spoke in La Verkin 3rd Ward on the topic of comparing our 2013 stake theme to the Beatitudes.  I had enough material for twenty minutes or so ... as it turns out I had about eight minutes.  If you are interested, click on the link and you can read the notes I prepared for the talk.  The actual talk was the portions of this I was inspired to give, skipping the rest to fit the time available.  As always, I believe the speaker got more out of this than anyone else :-) 

May God Grant Unto You That Your Burdens May Be Light, Through The Joy Of His Son

"And now, my brethren, I desire that ye shall ^aplant this word in your hearts, and as it  beginneth to swell even so nourish it by your faith. And behold, it will become a tree,   ^bspringing up in you unto ^ceverlasting life. And then may God grant unto you that your^d  burdens may be light, through the joy of his Son.  And even all this can ye do if ye ^ewill.   Amen."

All Things Denote There Is A God

Today's thought, from reading in Alma 30...

 "...all things denote  there is a  God;  yea,  even the ^bearth,  and ^call things  that are upon the face of it, yea, and its ^dmotion, yea, and also all the^eplanets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator.

That There Might Not Be More Sorrow Upon All The Face Of The Earth

"O that I were an angel,  and could have the wish of mine heart,  that I might go forth and speak with the ^atrump of God, with a voice to shake the earth, and cry repentance unto every people!

True Courage Under Fire

Willyne and I took Riley, Kate, and Ethan to the Hurricane theater to see "Planes".  We had a great time together.  Movie was fun and had a good message ... better to look out for a friend than putting victory first.  Victory will come in its own due time.
